Sara Shahmohammadi is an Iranian-Canadian engineer scientist, entrepreneur, business executive, musician and poet. She has garnered a masters degree in Structural Engineering from the prestigious University of Toronto and is a member of the Professional Engineers Canada. Sara has extensive experience in analysis and design of industrial structures for major multidisciplinary consulting engineering firms involved in (EPC) services. She has held a variety of roles and key management positions involving the construction of many noteworthy projects, interfacing and working closely with major international engineering firms in Iran and overseas. Sara has completed several projects with a principle emphasis on oil and gas, nuclear, mining, petrochemical plants and water and wastewater treatment plants from concept development, feasibility study through to the detailed design and documentation and delivery stages. Sara has worked for Bantrel (Bechtel), Hatch, SNC Lavalin and WorleyParsons in Canada and currently serves as the president and chief executive officer of Hybrixcel, Inc., and Geothermal Energy Research Breakthrough (GERB) Organization.
Sara studied western classical music at The Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto and then opera singing coached by Canadian musician, Prof. Steven Henrikson. Later, she began studying traditional Persian music ( Radif ) and Tasnif with an eminent Iranian composer, the late master Hassan Yousefzamani, released an album titled ‘Gahar‘ (name of a lake in Iran). Sara has worked with a number of Canadian and Iranian and other nationality musicians and composers including Canadian Bassist, Shelly Berger, Azerbaijani Composer, Ismayil Hajiyev and Iranian traditional vocalist, Shohreh Haghiri in a new direction of classical works. She also plays briefly Setar and Piano.
